Job 12-biz-dev -- Business Development

We are seeking an exceptional individual for an exceptional opportunity to join TerraSim's business development staff. TerraSim is a high technology software development and professional services company in the geospatial visualization industry. The successful applicant will multitask in several areas including pre-sales support, customer relationship management and development, and corporate marketing.

As a TerraSim business development staff member, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • report regularly on sales contacts and other activities
  • manage product inquiries and follow up with potential customers
  • set up and implement a regular contact schedule for customer satisfaction and product feedback
  • interact with our international software resellers
  • monitor industry sources for leads, competitor information, and new opportunities
  • participate in TerraSim sales planning and marketing strategy
  • organize customer relationships
  • maintain a knowledge base of customer data, including trade show contacts, end users, and information requests to our website

Applicants are expected to be extremely well organized and self-starters. We are seeking applicants who are quick and curious learners with a history of leadership roles in academic and/or nonacademic activities. Applicants must have excellent communication skills. As a high technology company, our employees are expected to be able to use and adapt technology for effective and efficient communication.

Additional position criteria include:

  • comfortable working within and learning from a technology-centric team
  • experience in the form of past employment or relevant internships
  • persistence in building relationships with customers and sales leads
  • ability to travel frequently to trade shows and meetings.

Applicants with the following experience or coursework are encouraged to apply:

  • sales and marketing for technology companies
  • knowledge of or exposure to commercial software life cycles
  • military service and/or understanding of U.S. defense procurement.

This is an entry level position. A successful candidate will have a BA/BS from a strong undergraduate business program. This is not an information technology or engineering position. Demonstrated excellence in academics, extracurricular activities demonstrating leadership, and relevant internships will be strongly rated.

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required. Compensation is a salary commensurate with achievement and a complete benefits package including healthcare, vision, dental, and 401(K).
