Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim announced today the release of TerraTools® 1.3, the latest and most comprehensive version of its premier geospatial database construction product.
TerraTools 1.3 adds new and exciting capabilities in a number of areas including data and model import/export, enhanced SEDRIS support, and a focus on urban geospatial visualization.
TerraTools 1.3 now contains over 180 models, designed and tailored for urban visualization applications. Classes of models include vegetation, traffic lights, traffic signage, telephone poles, mailboxes, hydrants, newspaper boxes, ATMs, and a variety of 'urban clutter'. Coupled with TerraTools unparalleled flexibility in automated model placement, model scatter, and parameterized building model appearance generation, users are presented with a complete, out-of-the-box solution for all of their urban modeling needs. Also included in the release is a plug-in export module developed for 3D Studio MAX® that allows users to easily add their models through the highly flexible TerraTools model library GUI.
Version 1.3 maintains the same flow graph project API that has won praise in its evaluation by NIMA Pathfinder, and has been adopted by demanding programs with a wide range of requirements, including WARSIM, Environmental Books on the Shelf (EBS), and Virtual Emergency Response Technician System (VERTS). Extensions to our SEDRIS export capability have been rigorously validated by a variety of programs with rapid response requirements.
TerraTools 1.3 is being released for both SGI/IRIX workstations and Windows NT/2000 workstations with OpenGL graphics cards. TerraTools projects are compatible between IRIX and Windows versions of TerraTools, and as always, TerraTools is complemented with an extensive on-help facility and thorough documentation for novice and expert users alike.
As the fourth major release in the TerraTools product line, TerraSim demonstrates its commitment to continuing technology enhancements that add value, functionality, and ease of use to its user community. Purchasers of TerraTools 1.X who are under current maintenance agreements will receive copies of 1.3 at no additional charge.
