Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim, Inc. is pleased to join the IMAGE Society. Founded in 1996, TerraSim provides software solutions and services for advanced visual simulation database construction using cartographic data. TerraSim's main product, TerraTools, has been used in the automated construction of several highly detailed visual simulation databases covering thousands of square kilometers.
TerraTools™ utilizes integrated TIN (ITIN) technology, developed at Carnegie Mellon University for the DARPA Synthetic Environments program, to seamlessly integrate roads, drainage, coastlines, and other landforms without operator intervention and editing.
Recent additions to the TerraTools suite include the generation of urban landscapes, including automatic geospecific building models, from standard GIS thematic coverages.
TerraSim is located in Pittsburgh, PA. and is active in the emerging technical community of Western Pennsylvania.

The IMAGE Society is a nonprofit association whose purpose is the technological advancement of real-time visual simulation, related technologies, and their applications. It consists of both organizational and individual members (500+) from all over the world. In pursuit of its mission, the IMAGE Society conducts conferences, symposia, workshops, and technical courses; and publishes an annual Society Resource Guide and Image Generator Survey, and its official newsletter "IMAGES."
