Pittsburgh, PA - Actually, the Schenley Park Visualization Project is featured in the cover story for the November/December 1998 issue of Surveying World, the UK Journal for Land, Engineering and Hydrographic Survey. Highlighted in this article is the automated construction of a 3D simulation database of the Schenley Park section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Schenley Park database represents the state-of-the art in 3D database construction. It touches on all of the key issues of database generation, including the integration of multiple 2D and 3D source data sets, the automated generation of 3D features from 2D GIS data, and the use of multiple database generation tools.
