Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim's 3D Database construction tool-set, TerraTools®, is featured in this month's edition of Real Time Graphics. The article, "TerraSim Attacks Geospecific Database Generations", appears in the March 1999 Volume 7 No. 8 edition of the newsletter. The article focuses on TerraTools' unique flowgraph user interface which allows incremental database tailoring to fit individual operator needs.
TerraSim's Az Zubayr and Schenley Park databases, two 3D databases created by TerraSim using varying 2D data and application areas, provide examples of TerraTools' flexibility. The Az Zubayr database was build to demonstrate rapid, automated database construction from specially produced NIMA data, while the Schenley Park database was developed using standard geographic information system (GIS) data.
Real Time Graphics is a newsletter for professionals working in the fields of simulation and virtual reality. It covers all aspects of the technologies of virtual environments, with special emphasis on image generators and displays, and associated software for real time operation. A premise of the newsletter is that techniques originally developed for high-end aerospace use are now appropriate to exciting new virtual reality and low cost simulator applications.
Ten issues per year each cover the full spectrum of the technology, markets, and organizations. The newsletter carries no advertising and is written by professionals working in the field.
