April 10, 2006
Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim, Inc. will be showcasing its TerraTools® 3D geospatial visualization software product line at the 2006 American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) meeting in Reno, Nevada, May 1-5, 2006. A sustaining member of ASPRS, TerraSim will be performing product demonstrations of its latest release of DEMTools 1.1 as well as new technology developed to support rapid modeling of urban environments at Booth #126.
TerraTools® 3.0 is the latest and most powerful release of its efficient geospatial database construction product line. TerraTools 3.0 rapidly constructs large area visualizations using DoD/NGA/USGS source data, imagery, CAD and GIS data in a Windows environment. TerraTools natively supports multi-threaded database processing and allows up to four times parallel processing with a dual processor Windows 2000 or XP workstation using a single TerraTools license.
With a focus on detailed urban modeling, TerraTools 3.0 supports the parametric generation of complex visual geometry with a high degree of automation. Recently, TerraSim has added support to export its visualizations into 3ds Max and Google Earth (KML) to expand interoperability, supporting customer goals to produce correlated databases distributed on the web or in high performance 3D viewers.
During the ASPRS technical paper sessions, Bill Starmer, Principal Geospatial Technologist, and David Lien, Product Manager for DEMTools will present a technical overview of the technology behind DEMTools from TerraSim®. The paper, entitled "DEM Fusion: An Approach to Conflation of Multiple Height Estimates, will be presented at the Data Fusion I Session on Wednesday, May 3 at 9:15 AM in room N-11.
