Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim, Inc. will be demonstrating its TerraTools® 3D geospatial visualization software product line at the 2007 American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) meeting in Tampa, Florida May 9-11 2007 at Booth #307.
A sustaining member of ASPRS, TerraSim will be performing product demonstrations of its latest release of RoadMAP, an advanced road network extraction system and DEMTools 1.1, an extension to ESRI ArcGIS. TerraSim will also be featuring its plug-in to BAE Systems' SOCET SET photogrammetric system supporting rapid generation of 3D visualizations, suitable for export to Google Earth and other real time viewers.
All of these products are components of TerraSim's focus as the technology leader to support modeling of complex urban environments for the GIS and modeling and simulation community.
TerraTools 3.0 is the latest and most powerful release of its efficient geospatial database construction product line. TerraTools 3.0 rapidly constructs large area visualizations using DoD/NGA/USGS source data, imagery, CAD and GIS data in a Windows environment. TerraTools natively supports multi-threaded database processing and allows up to four times parallel processing with a dual processor on a Windows 2000 or XP workstation using a single TerraTools license.
RoadMAP from TerraSim® - new, enhanced capabilities:
- Advanced GUI for seamless integration of automated and semi-automated extraction methods
- Generation of road centerline, road width, and full network topology with standard attribution
- Imports large area geoTIFF imagery and ESRI shapefiles
- Exports results directly to ESRI shapefiles or TerraTools
- XML-based attribution implements National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency(NGA) Feature and Attribution Coding Catalog (FACC) and supports configurable attribution tables
- Adding extruded buildings to the OTF export

DEMTools 1.1 - user-requested enhancements
- The Fuse Tool supports larger imagery up to 1gb
- The Flatten Tool allows users to specify areal boundary elevations to be set to the lowest, average, or highest border elevation, or to the value of a specified attribute
- Additional DEMTools options have been added, allowing the user to set default display units and default precision and NoData settings for raster layers
- The product of a DEM Fuse is now marked with a floating point precision
- Vertical datums are now correctly translated

SOCET SET - updates for TerraTools 3.0
- TerraTools plug-in supported for SOCET SET 5.3
- The plug-in contains the new Additional Options pane, which allows the user to enable smooth shading in the visualization, create an overlay map for TSGFly, set DEM ground sampling distances (GSD) options, and set feature generalization options
- The plug-in contains the new Export pane, which allows the user to easily export the project to various formats including CTDB, GISLink, OpenFlight, and SEDRIS

With a focus on detailed urban modeling, TerraTools 3.0 supports the parametric generation of complex visual geometry with a high degree of automation. Recently, TerraSim has added support to export its visualizations into 3ds Max and Google Earth (KML) to expand interoperability, supporting customer goals to produce correlated databases distributed on the web or in high performance 3D viewers.

About TerraSim
TerraSim is a US owned high-technology company that provides software solutions and services for advanced visual simulation and database construction using a variety of geospatial source data. TerraTools®, their primary product, is available for both Windows 2000 and XP.
TerraTools is used in the automated construction of dense urban environments for operations planning and situation assessment as well as to produce exercise databases covering hundreds of one degree geocells. TerraSim also provides database construction services and advanced technology development for both civilian and military customers.
TerraSim's TerraTours® product supports highly interactive geospatial query using 3D visualizations linked to a variety of collateral source data. Using GISLink™ technology, TerraTours users can automatically georeference and display information sources such as still photography, video streams, CAD design data, maps, and any web-enabled document.
