TerraSim Exhibits at I/ITSEC 2007

November 07, 2007

Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim, Inc. will be showcasing its TerraTools® terrain generation and visualization software product line at the 2007 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, Florida November 26-29, 2007 at Booth 1227.

This year, TerraSim will highlight new capabilities and options for the upcoming TerraTools Core 3.5 release, the latest and most powerful release of its efficient terrain generation and visualization product line. TerraTools rapidly constructs simulation databases using standard DoD/NGA/USGS source data, custom CAD and GIS data, and imagery, all in a Windows environment.

TerraTools supports the automatic and parametric generation of complex visual geometry critical for MOUT. TerraTools exports fully correlated databases in a variety of formats to support visual runtime environments, constructive simulation, computer generated forces, and 3D model construction.

TerraTools Core 3.5 natively supports multi-threaded database processing. It provides up to eight parallel processing threads, doubling the number available in previous versions. This powerful database creation is done on multi-core Windows 2000 or XP workstations using a single TerraTools license. Using task-level parallelism unique to the TerraTools project flow graph architecture, TerraTools maximizes your investment without resorting to specialized hardware configurations or additional software licenses.

At I/ITSEC, TerraSim will demo a number of important new features and algorithmic enhancements to make database generation significantly faster and simpler. New developments include:

  • Improvement of large area database generation processing with multi-tile OneSAF, GCS CTDB, and 100 geocell MÄK VR-Forces database generation.
  • Urban Details™ processing for automatic intensification of urban environments using parametric models. Added to TerraTools Core, Urban Details processing is part of the basic TerraTools software package.
  • Improved automatic building interior generation using blueprint templates for user-configurable content creation and export to MES and UHRB building models.
  • OneSAF Terrain Format (OTF) database generation updated for OOS 1.5 for single and multi-cell creation and export. Supports automatic source data mapping to the OOS environmental data model (EDM)
  • Conversion of OneSAF Testbed databases from CTDB to correlated OTF.
  • New support for JCATS version 7.1 export with correlation to CTDB and OTF formats
  • Improved support for MÄK VR-Forces and Stealth database generation for MÄK B-HAVE intelligent agent runtime.
  • RoadMAP from TerraSim®, an automated transportation network extraction system for rapid source data preparation to support construction of M&S databases.
  • Google Earth export to publish simulation database content on the internet

In addition to these TerraTools Core 3.5 enhancements, TerraSim's TSGFly™ version 6.0 and TerraTours® 3.5 will be demonstrated. TSGFly is the TerraTools 3D viewer which is included with TerraTools and is freely distributable by end users. It is also available for download by our DoD customers with access to SIPRNet and JWICS.

TerraTours is a unique, interactive 3D viewer that allows users to query objects in the visualization to gather and display associated multimedia (video, audio, photographs), architectural design files, PowerPoint presentations, and source data attribution. TerraTours is designed for customers who wish to develop their own intelligent information fusion applications using a 3D geospatial visualization as the focal point for user interaction.

For complete details on enhancements to TerraTools 3.5 and TerraTours 3.5, visit us during I/ITSEC 2007 at Booth 1227 for a discussion of TerraSim's modeling and simulation products and demonstration of a variety of sample geospatial databases. TerraSim system developers will be on hand to describe current and future TerraTools enhancements, as well as to discuss how TerraSim can support your geospatial database construction and computer generated forces requirements.

About TerraSim

TerraSim is a US owned high-technology company that provides software solutions and services for advanced visual simulation and database construction using a variety of geospatial source data. TerraTools®, their primary product, is available for both Windows 2000 and XP.

TerraTools is used in the automated construction of dense urban environments for operations planning and situation assessment as well as to produce exercise databases covering hundreds of one degree geocells. TerraSim also provides database construction services and advanced technology development for both civilian and military customers.

TerraSim's TerraTours® product supports highly interactive geospatial query using 3D visualizations linked to a variety of collateral source data. Using GISLink™ technology, TerraTours users can automatically georeference and display information sources such as still photography, video streams, CAD design data, maps, and any web-enabled document.
