Correlation of Virtual and Constructive Simulations

The emergence of Serious Game technology for training and mission rehearsal has created a need for high fidelity urban environments that are correlated to standard constructive simulation systems. This image, developed using TerraTools®, shows the detailed correlation between a leading commercial gaming system, Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2), with OneSAF, JSAF, and JCATS constructive simulations. Each database was exported from a common compiled geospatial representation that preserves data attribution, geometry, and appearance across different runtime formats.

The Sample Desert Database project brings together a number of important urban content components, including buildings with complex roofs, free standing walls, diverse vegetation, and trafficable roads integrated into rugged terrain. Using TerraSim's Urban DetailsTM processing, building interiors were automatically generated and converted to their respective runtime formats, including UHRB, MES, and JCATS enhanced building models as well as VBS2 building interiors.
