TerraSim to Showcase Advanced Synthetic Terrain Generation at I/ITSEC 2011

Live TerraTools Demos

Throughout the I/ITSEC show, TerraSim will conducting a number of live technology demonstrations at our booth.  These include:

Major TerraTools Updates

TerraSim will demonstrate the newest additions to TerraTools®, the complete synthetic environment toolkit. The upcoming 4.0.4 release includes major updates to TerraTools Batch Mode scripting for customer-defined processing outside of the TerraTools user interface.

Automated Large Area Terrain Generation

onesaf5.1TerraTools Batch Mode scripting iterates the database generation process over large geographic areas for a fully automated development process. Customers can organize their source data, set up the Batch Mode process, and let the workstation build the terrain unattended. Correlated visual and constructive databases can be developed using standard geospatial source data and a single 64-bit TerraTools license with 8 parallel processing threads.

 

New Havok Vision Exporter

visionTerraSim will also showcase its new TerraTools exporter for Havok Vision engine and Havok Game middlewear. TerraTools’ “correlated by design, not translation” capabilities support the automated generation of Havok Vision based game environments that are correlated with constructive simulations such as OneSAF, JointSAF, and JCATS.  TerraTools generates dense city blocks from basic city source data. Urban Details processing adds automatic assignment of building facade appearances and the creation of sidewalks, crosswalks, and parking areas.

 

Advanced and Up-to-date VBS2 Support

vbs2TerraSim is dedicated to providing customers with the most advanced VBS2 terrain map exporter available. The TerraTools VBS2 exporter now supports all new VBS2 features, including large area terrain paging (MultiMap), ocean and stream water models, and generation of underground structures. The TerraTools VBS2 exporter automatically decomposes complex models into functional VBS2 .p3d models with paths for VBS2 AI. With TerraSim’s proactive customer support, regular software updates are issued to work with all versions of VBS2.

 

Serious Terrain for Serious Games

sbproWith major updates for TerraTools 4.0.4, the Steel Beasts Pro exporter includes automatic generation of routing and fighting positions within buildings. Users can specify material types to support runtime weapons effects and damage states. Urban Details processing can be tailored to user requirements for model placement including density, model vanishing ranges, and levels of detail.

 

New Major Release of TerraSim Xtract™

TerraSim Xtract recovers legacy source data and processes it for reuse. As a low cost, standalone application, Xtract works out of the box with a clean and simple user interface. Since there are no embedded format editors, Xtract simplifies the legacy reuse process.

The all-new Xtract 2 is 64-bit native for large database support. Using TerraSim’s proven 8-processor multi-threading technology, Xtract can ingest very large and complex legacy data for reuse in any 3rd party geospatial data processing product.
Other new features include:

  • Support for reuse of JointSAF CTDB format 8.7
  • Support for reuse of OpenSceneGraph terrain and models
  • Advanced coordinate system reprojection

RoadMAP 2.1.1

RoadMAP from TerraSim® seamlessly combines automated, semi-automated, and manual methods for detecting and attributing road networks and linear features, providing significant quality and speed improvements over tedious manual road network extraction systems. The 2.1.1 release includes dozens of improvements and updates.
