TerraSim Exhibits New Innovations at ITEC 2012

May 17, 2012

Pittsburgh, PA - TerraSim, Inc. will showcase its TerraTools® terrain generation and visualization software product line at ITEC 2012 in London, England, May 22-24, 2012 at Stand E122.

TerraSim, the technology leader for the automated generation of correlated environments, will demonstrate live linking of virtual, constructive and serious game runtimes. These linked exercises will be demonstrated on TerraTools-generated terrains. Database content highlights include amphibious operations in the littoral zone and Terrastan, an "Afghan-like" valley with a realistic village, numerous outlying buildings, and operating base models.

TerraSim will demonstrate the following features to highlight how TerraTools supports the largest number of COTS constructive and serious game runtimes:

  • Recent improvements to Havok Vision Engine visual database export, including dense urban environments and large area (300km x 300km) databases
  • Parametric building generation to support interactive use of Havok Destruction
  • Steel Beasts Pro support for weapons effects with material strength settings
  • VBS2 database generation, including new water effects and generation of underground structures
  • Mission execution using VBS2 and Steel Beasts on a live network.
  • MASA SWORD database generation process flow

TerraSim will also be demonstrating TerraSim Xtract(TM) and RoadMAP as well as its new releases DEMTools, an elevation management tool, and MaterialMAP, a surface material classification system.

TerraTools-generated terrain databases will also be featured by a number of technology partners, including eSim Games (Stand C130) MASA Group (Stand F120), Calytrix Technologies (Stand E122), Havok (Stand H130) and Bohemia Interactive Simulation (Stand F110).

For example, Havok Defense will be demonstrating a (300km x 300km) database created in TerraTools, showing Havok Vision Engine runtime efficiency and support for large area paging. Calytrix will be demonstrating mission planning and linking constructive and serious game runtimes, using their latest version of LVC Game, which supports advanced entity filtering. TerraSim's Sample Desert Village will be used in these demonstrations, linking JointSAF, Havok Vision Engine, Steel Beasts Pro and VBS2.

About TerraSim

TerraSim is a US owned high-technology company that provides software solutions and services for advanced visual simulation and database construction using a variety of geospatial source data.

TerraSim's TerraTools® automates construction of dense urban environments for operations planning and situation assessment as well as produces exercise databases covering hundreds of one degree geocells. TerraSim also provides database construction services and advanced technology development for both civilian and military customers.

TerraSim's source data preparation products cut the key cost drivers in modeling and simulation workflows. TerraSim Xtract™ recovers legacy source data and processes it for reuse in any modeling and simulation product. RoadMAP from TerraSim® seamlessly detects, delineates, and attributes road networks and other linear features from aerial and satellite imagery.

TerraSim's TerraTours® product supports highly interactive geospatial query using 3D visualizations linked to a variety of collateral source data. Using GISLink™ technology, TerraTours automatically georeferences and displays information in any web-enabled document.
